Toddlers
|
Curriculum is not just what story is read, what art project is done, or what product is made; a large part of curriculum is playtime (or work time in Montessori speak)! Activities like crawling, walking, running, throwing, catching, jumping, climbing, and balancing develop gross motor skills. Now that's my kind of learning! In addition, each week has a new theme to incorporate our music, language, science & sensory development.
Educational opportunities exist in the simplest activities and most importantly, learning should be about having fun! In addition to the building blocks for Kindergarten, our caregivers will focus on practical life skills, manners, music & dancing, arts & crafts and most importantly building confidence! |
This is a rough draft of what a typical day may look like for our toddlers. However, the final schedule is ultimately determined by the dynamic of the classroom and the mood of the room any given day (kids will be kids after all).

The toddler classes are designed to allow for plenty of exploratory experiences, focusing on sensory, emotions and fine motor skill building. This is often the first experience away from their Mommy and Daddy for these children, so we keep our ratios low to ensure the children get lots of attention. Our infant and toddler class is for children over the age of 16 months and under the age of 3.
The parents love our app that allows them to follow their child's day in real time from their computer or app on their smart phone. At the end of the day parents receive an email summarizing their child's day -- feedings, diaper changes, naps, activities and even allows video and photo sharing. This technology allows parent and caregiver to communicate effectively. Never go another day hearing nothing about your child's daycare experience!
